Episode 6 dives right back into the aftermath of Hwang Dongsuk and his group’s treacherous plan. We see them openly discussing how they’ll claim the dungeon’s treasure by leaving Sung Jinwoo and Yoo Jinho to die. This isn’t their first time pulling such a stunt, so they’re confident they can pass it off as an “unfortunate accident” once again.
“What happens a dungeon, stays in a dungeon.”
The C-Rank Spider Boss
Meanwhile, Jinwoo faces a new challenge: a powerful C-rank monster – a huge spider with acid attacks and near-impenetrable armor. Having never fought anything of this caliber, he’s apprehensive but not paralyzed by fear. After all, he’s level 18 now. A fierce showdown ensues.
Jinwoos newfound speed skill, “Dash,” helps him dodge and weave, but he still can’t land a decisive strike. As he weakens and fatigues he realizes that the paralysis ability of his dagger can help him win, if he can just land an attack. But his fatigue reaches 70 and the spider seizes an opening to deliver a potentially fatal blow.
In a clutch move, Jinwoo uses a “full recovery” item from his inventory and counterattacks, surprising the spider and finally striking one of it’s eyes. He continues gouging it’s eyes, causing paralysis with each hit, and finally kills it.
Alarming Realizations
In the wake of Jinwoo’s victory, Yoo Jinho, awestruck, grows suspicious that Jinwoo could be a “false ranker,” someone far more powerful than their listed rank indicates. Nevertheless, he’s grateful and relieved.
Cut to a quick scene featuring Chairman Go of the Hunters Guild, an influential figure, wrapping up a day of corporate meetings with an intense training session with Woo Jinchul (the surveillance team employee that tested Jinwoo’s rank in the hospital in episode 3).
Although just a training session and despite Chairman Go’s age, he shows amazing power and makes easy work of the much younger, Jinchul, hinting that the stakes and power dynamics are significantly different between hunter’s grades.
When the Betrayers Return
Hwang Dongsuk and his crew come back, expecting an easy cleanup. Shocked to see the spider dead, they assume Jinho alone managed the kill. Then, in a cold twist, they threaten Jinho: kill Jinwoo or be killed himself. Jinho sides with Jinwoo.
Little do they know they’ve just poked the hornet’s nest.
Jinwoo receives an urgent quest demanding that he eliminate his “enemies” or face death himself. His heart will literally stop if he disobeys. While distracted by the notification, one of the betrayers attacks, smashing him into the rocks.
A Dark Turn
Jinwoo rises with a deadly new aura. He swiftly decapitates his first victim, reeling from the weight of killing another human for the first time.
Each takedown feels both shocking and tragically inevitable: the quest won’t let him stop. One by one, he dispatches the traitors in a flurry of speed and power. Hwang Dongsuk, the only C-rank among them, tries to stand his ground with a reinforcement skill, but Jinwoo is simply too strong.
Dongsuk’s dying words hint at a mysterious brother before Jinwoo silences him permanently. With the dungeon boss defeated, the dungeon collapses, and Jinwoo and Jinho escape.
Guild Debrief and Murderous Intent
Once back, they give their report to a Hunters Guild representative, who, amusingly, attributes the heroic feat to Jinho and his expensive armor. Jinwoo quietly leaves, having gained a new skill: “Murderous Intent,” which can nullify enemies’ abilities for a short time.
As rain falls, Jinwoo reflects on how grateful he is that his sister is safe with an umbrella, suggesting a disconnect between his brutal new reality and the everyday life he still clings to.
In the final scene, we see the back of a strong and seemingly dangerous man looking out of his apartment window, who suddenly tenses as if he’s become alerted to something. Could this be Dongsuk’s mysterious brother, sensing that something bad has happened?
Final Thoughts
Episode 6 is a stark turning point for Sung Jinwoo. While he’s been steadily growing stronger, this is the moment he’s forced to kill fellow hunters to survive, pushing him onto a morally complex path. It’s a darker edge to a series already steeped in danger and betrayal.
The game logic remains as intriguing as ever, with Jinwoo gaining fresh skills and items that elevate him to near-invincible status. Yet despite his unstoppable progress, there’s a lingering question: will he ever face an enemy truly capable of challenging him, or perhaps a situation that tests his resolve in a way even his massive strength can’t overcome? Until that day comes, it’s clear he’ll continue to dominate the battlefield, though the price of victory is growing heavier by the episode.
